spending ~2 weeks trying to work remotely while on the end of one of several poor-bandwidth options for internet connectivity was a bit frustrating. and now my stepmother is recovered from her surgery and i'm back home with better connectivity. yay all around!
options were 1 slow dsl, 2 poor-connectivity virgin mobile hotspot, 3 poor-connectivity verizon connected ipad that could act as a hotspot. my phone, which can't tether/share, was mostly okay but not up to, say, streaming video.
