never after

so [livejournal.com profile] clauclauclaudia and i went to see the opening performance of T@F's production of Never After, a lesbian fairy tale. big congrats to all the folks on my friendslist who were involved! i enjoyed it!

i could talk about how the show is outstanding if viewed as an amateur perform-in-a-church-basement kind of show, and a solid (if slightly rough) piece if viewed as something performed in a professional venue. (U2 played there a few months back, for example)

but i am excessively delighted by being able to actually be at a premiere performance of a piece and yell "AUTHOR AUTHOR!" at the end and get the author up on stage to take her bows.

the closing performance is tomorrow afternoon (yeah, it's a short run...), and regis-bob says 'check it out' if you're local. i laughed a lot, and left humming the music and claudia picked up the lyrics book.

thisit was a concert performance, and now i want to see the show fully staged. or, perhaps, see it as a movie. cgi is cheap and it would totally be better than any sci-fi syfy channel original movie.
