That's when I reach for my orchestra

I found a way to make the latest (and likely final) restoration of Lang's "Metropolis" even better! Live music. In this instance, live music from Alloy Orchestra, a 3 man (one of whom is Roger Miller of Mission of Burma and Birdsongs of the Mesozoic) ensemble that does music for silent films. Substantially non-period, but really quite good. It ran tonight to a sold-out house in the main stage of the Somerville Theatre.

We were there too! Got in a few minutes late due to lack of parking in Davis Square, but arrived as the masses were plodding into the underground. I'd love to hear (from you?) how the show was started. Did they just start playing or walk on the stage to fanfare/introduction, were there previews, etc?

No previews. IIRC, there was a bit of introduction, but it was introducing the film as well as them - no big fanfare.
