i hate linux.

offhand.org (running fedora core 3) went down today and won't come up. it looks like the problem is in /boot. when i force a file system check, it complains about /boot and says "fsck.ext3 unable to resolve 'LABEL=/home'" and "unable to resolve 'LABEL=/pub'"

sigh.

[EDIT1: looks like i lost the drive that contains /home, among other things. working on recovery now.]

[EDIT2: woo! got the disk working. feverishly backing up now...]

Linux can go fsck itself.

There are days when I just hate computers. Other days I call all of the trappings of modern civilization into question.

Good luck!

I've had problems like that with Fedora Core 3... I was able to fix them just by replacing LABEL="foo" with /dev/hdwhatever... there was no real problem with the disks (in my case), just a problem with the disk labels.
