gay cowboys and grace jones as the devil

claudia and i just saw "brokeback mountain". it's very good. i'd read the original story a while ago, and the movie captures the feeling perfectly.

we also had monumentally mediocre sushi nearby and swung thru the ravaged near-empty shell of grand opening's closing sale. (they're closing, allegedly to be reopened in a few weeks as a branch of good vibes.)

also, i am highly amused by the 80's tarot

Ironically I am listening to So by Peter Bariel and he is "Judgement"

Such a shame to have mediocre sushi when you were steps from Hiro-san.

sometimes, experimentation is good. sometimes, experiments fail.

So where was the monumentally mediocre sushi?

takeshima, which is (i think) the sushi joint closest to the coolidge on that side of the street.

I used to like that place quite a lot back in the early '90s, but I'd heard it had gone to the dogs. Sensei Toryu, who's quite the sushi fan, switched his allegiance over to Mr. Sushi after they opened up.
