thank you for flying conspiracy air.

found via metafilter, an article providing an overview of a bunch of the charter flights that bring people from the normal world into the "black operations" world of classified airbases. including flight procedures used for the "janet" flights that take workers every day from las vegas to groom lake (aka "area 51")

"Unmarked Planes and Hidden Geographies"

this is by Trevor Paglen, the same guy who tracked the CIA "special rendition" flights and put together the book "Torture Taxi"

edited to include:
check out the patch with the alien on it on this page: http://www.paglen.com/pages/projects/nowhere/symbology.html
and so i googled the latin to check my "that can't be right" translation, and found this excerpt from a Q&A correpondence with an air force archivist:
linkie!

Q. Latin words "Gustatus Similis Pullus" are shown at the bottom of the insignia. Please translate to English?
A. Guststus Similis Pullus is dog Latin for "Tastes Like Chicken." This is supported by the alien figure, which apparently is eating the B-2.
(Ed. Note) You have to appreciate that answer coming from the United States Air Force

yes, yes you do.

Thanks for the pointers. We'll be in the area soon, maybe we'll spot a janet or two.
