why i've been posty mcpostsalot this weekend

as i mentioned, i've been doing outcrufting to make room for claudia's voluminous cruft. my current goal is to clear out several of the freestanding bookcases in the living room. to do this, the first step was to clear out a whole bunch of space in the overfull wall-mount bookcase in the computer room. so i've been alternating between sorting/ditching/restacking books and poking at the internet.

that's a lot of space cleared up right there.

Very belated congratulations! I've been cleaning out my library too and it makes me very happy. (No more scifi written by, for, and about patriarchal white men, yeah!)

Tamora Pierce, Robin McKinley, Patricia McKillip, Scott Westerfeld, Holly Black, Charles de Lint, Sarah Beth Durst, Lee and Miller, P.C. Hodgell, Diane Duane, Tanya Huff, Suzette Haden Elgin, Diana Wynne Jones, Lois McMaster Bujold, Tanith Lee, Nina Kiriki Hoffman, Sherri Tepper, and Justine Larbalestier, to name a few of the better-represented authors. (I do still have some Brust, actually. Hmmm. That's probably shameful after the above declaration and I should decide what to do about it.) Also I need to look over my list of people to look up from Wiscon. Why yes, a lot of the most interesting things happening right now are happening in YA Fantasy- why do you ask?

(I actually don't own any Delaney, Butler, or Tiptree. This is partly because my theory of book collecting at the moment is "if I can get it any time from any library, I shouldn't own a copy unless paying for it with my own money and having it on my own bookshelf, taking up space in my tiny tiny apartment, is emotionally important to me and will improve my baseline happiness".)
