What happens in Vegas gets moved by heavy equipment

There's a new tourist attraction opening up in Las Vegas.
Recreational heavy equipment operation, where you can spend a couple of hours driving a bulldozer or excavator around and making/filling/relocating big holes in the dirt.

That's pretty cool, right there.

According to 'song that lot has been a dust/junk/will-be-constructed-any-day-now area for over 20 years. Someone's come up with a clever way to make money from failure I guess.

OK, Ben might go to Vegas for that!

So for my upcoming trip to Vega I could visit either this or a brothel.

So no contest; I want to drive a BULLDOZER!

*laugh* This was approximately the subject line of the email I just wrote about this post to someone who may identify themself if they like, before I even saw your comment.

yeah, I'm the individual [livejournal.com profile] browngirl wrote the email to, and I said to her in response, in part:

Actually, brothels aren't legal in Vegas proper. The legality of prostitution in Nevada varies by county, and state law bans brothels in counties with more than 400,000 residents, which includes the countt that contains Las Vegas.

So yeah, hiring a prostitute in Vegas is just as illegal as it is back home.

More than you ever wanted to know:

Oh of course they're illegal in Vegas. You have to rent a car to drive out to this place, and you have to rent a car to go visit a brothel.

Point being both experiences would take most of a day and involve manipulating things for pleasure. However the bulldozer sounds more fun.

Likewise visiting Hoover dam won out over brothel last time around.

I can't imagine being in Vegas without a car to begin with. I suppose if you're just there to gamble, or to go to some kind of conference ot trade show, you can get a cab to take you back and forth to your hotel from the airport and then never leave the Strip, or even the comfort of your own hotel.

I'm generally in favor of legalizing prostitution, at least in theory. But the Nevada brothels just sound kind of icky in the way they're run, and from what I've read they don't sound like they provide much of an optimal client experience either. So yeah, AFAIC bulldozer would win for me too.

You know, I think I might actually have a compelling reason to go to Vegas now.

I could totally see you in the cab with a hardhat.
