THERE SHOULD BE A MOVIE, AND IT SHOULD BE A COMEDY

Julianne Moore as the scheming businesswoman who makes her fortune cheating the unsuspecting and causing harm to honest people. But she's just cheated the wrong person.

Kathy Bates as the reformed con-woman who decides it's time to get back into her conning ways to get even with her BECAUSE SOMEONE HAS TO PAY for what's been going on.

Meryl Streep and Jodie Foster as her two erstwhile partners-in-confidence-gaming who get roped into helping out.

Queen Latifah as the successful business woman who provides the irresistable bait for the counter-con.
And the rest of the con team:

Susan Sarandon as the safe-cracking thief.

Jamie Murray as the voluptuous vamp.

Mira Sorvino as the enforcer.

Danica McKellar as the hacker.

Amy Adams as the ingenue.

Michelle Yeoh and Allison Scagliotii as the would-be superhero crimefighters who throw a monkey wrench into everyone's carefully laid plans.

Glenn Close as the honest cop trying to catch *everyone*

And special guest Annette Bening playing real-life performance artist Laurie Anderson.

I'd see this movie. Hell yeah. An "Ocean's 11" style comedy caper flick with a whole lot of talented folks in it.
ETA
How could I forget?

Sigourney Weaver as a rival con-woman.

That would be AWESOME.

It would be like the anti-Mamet. Funny and full of female characters.

Now I'm envisioning "The Anti-Mamet". Thanks!

I like it, but too much casting to type. Shuffle the same actresses randomly into the roles and you might have have something even more fun.

[identity profile] rmd.livejournal.com 2011-12-29 02:16 pm (UTC)(link)
True. Mostly, my criteria was women who I think of as wonderful in comedy who don't (imao) do enough comedy.

Although when I came across the picture of Michelle Yeoh as a superhero, I immediately thought of Allison Scagliotti in goggles as her sidekick.

[identity profile] browngirl.livejournal.com 2011-12-29 04:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Oooh, I would watch that TWICE.

[identity profile] prock.livejournal.com 2011-12-29 09:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Can we have it be a musical too?

[identity profile] rmd.livejournal.com 2011-12-29 09:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Sure! Why the hell not?

Meryl Streep has been in a film where she did her own singing, I think. I assume some of the others can sing, too. (IIRC Scagliotti's character on 'Warehouse 13' has sung but I'm not sure if that was her voice)

[identity profile] hammercock.livejournal.com 2011-12-30 06:01 am (UTC)(link)
Meryl Streep has sung in Silkwood, Ironweed, Postcards from the Edge, A Prairie Home Companion, Mamma Mia!, and a few others.

[identity profile] rmd.livejournal.com 2011-12-30 04:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh right. I haven't seen "mama mia" or "prairie home companion". I'm not sure if I've seen "ironweed". I forgot she sang in "silkwood", but I remember her singing being a plot point in "postcards"
