We did an 802.1x implementation 2 jobs ago, Cisco hardware, but that was another era when it comes to tech.
We were creating AD accounts for MAC addresses of wifi cards I believe. I wouldn't suggest it. :D

I'd say look at your existing wireless gear and see what NAC they support natively.
