City Slicker replacement?

City Slicker has been my go-to pizza choice for a while in Somerville for years. Except they seem to have changed their recipes in the past couple of weeks for both pizza and fries and while I'm mostly okay with the new fries, [livejournal.com profile] clauclauclaudia doesn't like them nearly as much, although the roasted garlic dipping sauce is still about the same, but we are both really underwhelmed by the changes in pizza crust, They're not doing the pan-baking thing, and instead it's just mediocre and I think they've changed something about the cheese and sauce, too. (I think? hard to tell with the huge change in crust)

Suggestions on who makes a good white pizza with pepperoni and garlic around here and will bring it to my house in the Winter Hill area?

I noticed that change in their crusts too, but I still like the new crust just fine. :-)

We'll likely try mixing up our usual order and seeing if that makes it sufficiently better.

Also, they seem to have changed back to normal-sized pepperoni, which is neither good nor bad but just surprising.

People like different things in pizzas, so I'm not sure if you'd like them, but I still like Broadway Eatery (formerly Theo's) (formerly Somerville House Of Pizza) (always Satan Surprise -- 617 666 TADA!).

bah. doesn't look like the delivery this far over, but they're close to where I work so I'll have to check them out for lunch to see if it's worth picking their pizza up occasionally.

Yeah, stop by for a slice some time and see if you like it, before you do anything too complicated. :^)

This is a bummer. Their City Girl pie is one of my all-time favorite pizzas. Maybe I'll order one sometime soon and see if it's still any good with the new crust.

Last time I had one of their gourmet pizzas (about, maybe, three weeks ago?), it had the pan crust, but when I ordered a make-your-own, I got a standard crust. The next time I ordered a make-your-own pizza, I asked for the pan crust and got it. Next time I order from them, I'll see if I can get the pan crust.

Try Alfredo's on Broadway in Somerville near Foss Park (they're on Foodler). I get their pepperoni, garlic white pizza and it's a delight!

If you like thin NY-style, Lisa's on Boston Ave in Medford is quite good.
