Those Lipton pouches of flavored rice microwave up pretty good. My problem with stove-top rice, besides it coming out inedible, was the inch or two of burnt rice on the bottom of the pan that couldn't be chiseled off and I'd have to throw the pan out. Now on Atkins, its a moot point, I can't eat it, take-out Chinese is just the Teriyaki Beef Sticks now. I tried the carb-free pasta, it was soooo horrendous. If you'd wiped sawdust up with a paper towel and then boiled it is about the best way to decribe it.
