bush has named today "patriot day", and somehow i just know that this will end up being a "grill burgers and hotdogs in your yard then go to the big sales" holiday in 75 years. but wouldn't it be cool if it ended up being a holiday in memory of firefighters and emergency response workers?

that would be a good legacy.

we were talking about this at work and had a similar idea; we came up with the name "hero day". could be some folks would therefore eat sandwiches on long rolls, but that's okay in the long run, too.

I'm with you both on this one. Heck, we could have big picnics and treat firefighters and ERW's to heros! Bring the whole thing full circle! ;)
