Only trick is this: If you find something you have to disclose it to your insurance company.

Because woe be to those who don't, then get ill then find their insurance canceled.

Oh wait, that's been fixed by Obama, has it not?

IIRC, as long as you find it out after signing the insurance contract, you're covered.

Of course, one of the great benefits of this sort of test is figuring out whether you're in for an expensive chronic ailment and if so, buying more insurance.

As for the first it means you will not be changing jobs anytime soon.

As for the second, that is (was) technically fraud. And they do look for that sort of thing all the time these days.

Well, not anymore. However it looks like they ended the sale so I will never know if I am 50% mermaid.

Nice sale!

I got a discount on my test kit last fall (black friday) but not that good

I'm glad I tried it... not knowing anything about my genetics. I learned I was of northern european heritage! Glad to know that. Also, no surprises affecting my health.

Thanks for the linkie -- I decided to sign up and give it a try, as being an orphan and knowing very little about my genetics other than generic Fennoscandian origin.

Should be **very** interesting as I daresay I'll tilt some meters.

Sadly, they don't extract the full 3 billion bp. I want the raw data, dammit! Open-source genomes!

Apparently it wasn't until midnight. Back to $499, I'm afraid. :(
