of course, it took 4 different versions of code trying to get something that recognized an ethernet controller that had been recognized by my buggy code from a now-discontinued early release code train. and i had to drive to work (when the first reboot failed).
well, not for this application. although in general, i could see freebsd being a good weird-router platform. there are a bunch of bsd-derived firewall projects out there.
