oh, how annoying.

so, as i've whined before, my lower lip split from sunburn-related swelling last week. and it's been healing, generally by building up some dead skin and spooge scabbing which then sloughs off at least once a day. no biggie. it's been improving, so that's all good.

last night, i woke up in the middle of the night because my lip was stuck to the pillowcase -- apparently, the spooge had hardened against the pillowcase or something. so i tried to gently tug it away and managed to pull enough skin off of my lip that it started bleeding kind of profusely. i grabbed a kleenex and licked it so it wouldn't stick to the kleenex and then put pressure on my lip. after several iterations of that, it finally stopped bleeding and i went back to sleep.

that was kind weird.

I picked up a book from the floor next to my bed last night and discovered it had a fairly good-sized puddle of dried blood on the cover, apparently from the time my nose started bleeding in the night and I was frantically searching for tissues in the dark. Bleeding when half-awake is very annoying.
