there's distress and then there's *distress*

i heard what sounded like a young girl in really serious distress this evening shortly after i got home. being a reasonable neighbor, i figured i'd make sure that nobody was being ax-murdered in sight of my house.

poking my head out onto my porch, i waited for a moment and watched a young girl come racing around the corner shrieking ... and someone who looked like an older brother rushing after her with a super-soaker.

which, you know, is pretty okay as far as kids in distress go.
