dammit. no removable velcro-laden walking splint for me. it doesn't fit right on me. so i have another compression cast thingie and apparently several more weeks of showering with a bag taped to my leg so the wrapping doesn't get wet.
*sigh*
and apparently i get 3 or 4 more weeks of this to look forward to. grrrrrrr.
i miss going to the gym. treadmilling and most lower body stuff is right out, but maybe i can go and do other things to warm up and then do upper body stuff. must ponder this.
note to self: pick up more electrical tape for wrapping bags to my leg

Date: 2004-11-23 09:14 am (UTC)Could you ride an excercise bike one footed? I used to do that sometimes when I had an ankle injury...

Date: 2004-11-23 09:54 am (UTC)actually, it's not sucking that badly. it's just being annoying, which is why i'm grumbling so much and generally being a whiner about it. if it were more serious or i was actually in pain, i think i'd be a better patient.
i just keep thinking "but it doesn't hurt!" (i know i'm trying to avoid having a full break while letting the fracture heal, it just seems a bit to-do for something that doesn't hurt. but i suppose this is how i keep it from hurting more... sigh. but i'm being good and staying off of it.)
also, the new compression cast is somewhat less annoying than the other ones -- it's lighter weight, i think.
i may try biking. also, god knows i need to do good back exercises -- the one thing all of this has been doing is making my back sore between crutching about and using the cane and such.
