i had my leg ultrasounded today. the whole length of it from my groin down to the ankle. pretty weird feeling. also, so very very much slime involved. if i got any more slime on me i'd have been able to claim to be a ghostbuster.

good news: the weird soft asymmetrical swelling on my leg is *not* due to a blood clot. (this is why i had my whole leg ultrasounded).

still no clue what's causing it, but at least i know what it isn't.

Yay no blood clot! Did they at least use warmed ultrasound goo? When it's cold, yikes!

Ah yes, I've had a couple of vascular ultrasounds, when they were trying to figure out why my foot and leg were swollen. Kind of neat to watch them squeeze the vein closed.

Hmmm..ok, blood clot would have been bad...so that's a plus. But assymetrical swelling is so not good. I hope you find out what it is soon or the other leg is gonna get jealous with all this attention being paid to one and not the other!

< random drive-by journaling> Ewww... I had a venous doppler not long ago myself, and I remember that viscous goo very un-fondly. And NO, they didn't warm it for mine! Mine did turn out to be blood clots, but only in the superficial venous system, not in the deep vein system. Hope they find out soon what's wrong and come up with a decent course of treatment.
