well, i've been having enough trouble finding a job that doesn't suck and is appropriate to my skillset that i'm now considering expanding my search to include jobs that don't (to use corporate-speak) "utilize my core competencies".
part of it is that i keep finding enough jobs to apply to that *are* within my real skillset that i keep thinking "oh, just wait and see if this half dozen pan out before starting to apply for more junior or much lower paying positions". because i hate changing jobs, so i was hoping to avoid having a stopgap job before finding a "real" job.
but i think i'm getting nervous enough about being unemployed that i should start aiming lower, since even a 50% pay cut on what i "should" be making is more than i'm making now.
