so, i remembered to put the trash out last night. yay me.

but this morning, i went out and there was this bag that i didn't remember putting out, so i figured "oh, it must be from the first floor tenant"

but it was still there when i got back, and i realized that it was probably because the bag had started to tear if one picked it up. which is when i noticed that it was full of tile and masonry stuff which clearly didn't come from the first floor.

so apparently someone dropped off a bag of construction debris in front of my house on trash day. maybe some construction guys who pulled a permit (so trash won't be picked up from that house) have been putting their debris in trash bags and spreading it around the city?

(this was originally a custom-security "everyone but [livejournal.com profile] quietann" friends-only post, but since the wedding is done and the happy couple is married, i'm making it a public entry.)

THIS is a wonderful celebration and a wonderful event in honor of the committment and the joining together in marriage of Ben and Ann who are, in fact, a wonderful couple.

They are a couple who have created a very special life together.

I spent some time trying to find a good quote to include in my toast. Something that seems appropriate to the people Ann and Ben are, and to the community of family and friends that they are a part of. It was a bit challenging - like trying to find a card from Hallmark for "best wishes on your 27 new rats!", or "congratulations on your new satellite"

Which is why at this point I would like to provide a quote from the well known physicist Richard Feynman.

On the occasion of his marriage.

"Dearest riches have never made people great but love does it every day."

May your love always make you great.

May you wake up every day loving each other more than you did the day before.

Whenever someone I know is stressed about wedding arrangements I tell them this: At the end of the day, you'll be married. And anything else that happens that day is just part of the stories you'll tell in twenty years.

May all the stories the two of you tell about this day end "and we lived happily ever after"
