i *heart* the brattle

the brattle is having a "femme fatale" series on mondays right now. this week it was "the killers" and "double indemnity".

i love the almost kabuki-like ritual of tough-talking dialogue in those movies. the rich texture of black and white and the shadings as people move in and out of pools of light. and oh yes, edith head gives good costume. :)
