v for vendetta
Mar. 17th, 2006 05:56 amit's not an accurate adaptation of the comic. so don't go in expecting one.
on the other hand, i rather enjoyed it. it was more of a standard hero-storyline plot than the comic, but i'm not sure that's not a good thing for a the motion picture format.
the wachowskis wrote it -- i thought they'd directed it, but apparently not. however, their touch is evident -- some of the fight scenes were totally matrix-style. and one scene with rain falling reminded me of the shot in "the matrix" where bullet casings are falling like rain.
so, yeah, the plot is substantially different, but i think many of the important parts are still there, shaped into a more movie-ish thing that is enjoyable.
in other, completely unrelated news, the spammers finally found a subject line for mail that i'd actually open at work. "VNC installed". i'm expecting to start getting spam with subject lines like "Quarterly Solaris patching update" or something.
