soliciting for charity
Mar. 31st, 2006 07:27 amthe mongol rally sounds like a metric fuckload of fun. in that "riding the line between stupid and insane" kind of way. that "no, wait, are you serious?" way. basically, you get a completely crap car (1.0 litre max engine size) in london and drive to the ass end of mongolia. then ditch the car and come home.
a variety of circumstances prohibit me from running this rally, at least this year, but my friend patrick is actually doing it this year -- he and his friend justin are officially signed up as "team ramrod".
while the cars are crap, the fundraising for charity associated with it is top notch. team ramrod has to raise a total of 2000 british pounds (about $3500) for two different charities. 1500 pounds for "the christina noble children's foundation in mongolia", and 500 pounds for "send a cow"
