First off, talking up a good cause: http://www.donorschoose.org/ which hooks donors up with teachers who have submitted projects for their classrooms. things like more books and whiteboards and such.

So, clauclauclaudia's move-in continues apace. Pickup-truckloads of stuff come over every once in a while and get unloaded. We wanted movers to handle the nice furniture (she's got a really nice dresser set), and since we're doing that, we're having them move all the furniture, the last of the boxes, and -- as a last ditch thing -- packing anything left to pack and moving that as well. I'm taking Monday and Tuesday off to help wrangle it and then recover from it.

I am once again considering nanowrimo. (I was a big old loser a couple of years ago, the one time I tried.) Part of the thing that stalled me out last time was getting to a point where I had a vague idea of what I wanted in the book and no clue how to get from here to there. So I figure if I can get even a vague sketch of an outline for a different story done by the end of this month, I'll try again.

Apparently, the other side of Somerville (the 27th Middlesex district) has one of the most LOLtastic get-your-buttery-popcorn nonbinding referendum question ever. question 5 listed here:

Shall the state representative from this district be instructed to vote in favor of amending the state Constitution to replace the state Legislature with 100 randomly selected adult residents of the Commonwealth, each serving a one-year term, to be called the Commonwealth Jury and to have all the legislative and other powers of the current Legislature?

(To see your own weird district-wide ballot questions in MA, you can enter your info here at wheredoivotema.com and see what'll be on your ballot.)

bwahahaha.
