i am claudialess for a few days as she's out of town for a few days.

the "oh, hey, it'll be nice to have some time apart" phase lasted only a few hours.

i anticipate that by the time she returns on saturday, i'll be flicking the light switch on and off for entertainment, waiting for the cats to answer when i talk to them.

(yeah, i talk to them all the time, but don't usually expect them to answer)

I know what you mean. Unemployment has made me downright clingy...

Also: Re- talking cats. I talk to mine all the time. I ask them questions and sometimes make observations, but I often imagine how terrified and/or startled I'd be if they did answer me.

oh, god yeah. when she first started spending lots of time at my place, claudia ended up learning the difference between my "talking to a human where i expect a response" voice and my "talking to pets" voice.

occasionally, i narrate for the cats. "wait, maybe bonaparte can find something interesting under there. oh, no, it's over here! ... oh, maybe not. let's check under this instead"

Solution: watch all the junky movies you know she'd hate.

mac & cheese out of a pot is good, but lasagna out of a pan is even better...(maybe a small lasagna, anyway).

I usually make a point of leaving the toilet seats up when Jess is out of town. Fun fun!

aw yeah.

did i tell you my cool idea for christmas lights? a vertical pole of LED's that does POV flashing so you see christmas/holiday patterns as you move your head so it passes thru your field of vision.

and since claudia doesn't care for tomato sauce, lasagna out of the pan is even more appropriate when she's out of town.

Get spicy chicken sausage, slice into thin coin-shaped slices, cook in a tiny bit of garlic olive oil (it won't need more than that), then mix into the cooked Mac and Cheese.

so tasty

If you're up for dinner sometime let me know.

I may even be convinced to join you in talking to your cats....

heh. i was just reflecting that eric goes out of town next weekend and i need to set up distractions. and i need to make plans to cook MEAT (since eric doesn't eat MEAT). (where MEAT == "meat from mammals" since he's not actually vegetarian.)

Day 4: Phoning yourself up for someone different to talk to...
