i'm home, after a week or so in the west (BARGE in las vegas, then a trip to bryce, grand, and zion canyons, then back to LV for dinner with my folks and the flight home).

i'm caught up on lj via a quick skim. making my way thru email now. then, snail mail.

also, the cats are getting very demanding. there's some serious kitty-scritching to catch up on, here.

i dozed on a red-eye, so lj is perfect for skimming and looking for important keywords while otherwise settling in and letting myself catch up with being home again.

email requires more brain power since i might have to reply, so that needs a bit of tea to tackle.

snailmail generally involves bills, so i have to actually be awake.

and the cats are just inserting themselves into the process whenever they can. vague (the big tortiseshell longhaired cat who usually hides when visitors are about) is particularly fond of flopping on my shoulder facing downward in front. and then drooling on me when she's happy. stupid cat.

yes! i forgot to answer because i'm a giant flakey person. also, because that was "after vacation" and i was all "yikes! must prepare for vacation!"

more "ambling around on trails" rather than hiking. it was mostly a "drive around. stop, walk around for a mile or so, take pictures, drive more" kind of vacation.

Rockin'. I totally understand the social event horizon. (Note, though, that the event in question is tomorrow. And the reason I'm bothering you about it, of course, is that if you *do* want to go I want to bum a ride. :)
