the folks at books for soldiers do good stuff -- they take requests from soldiers and match volunteers up with them and volunteers send books and stuff overseas and hopefully make for much happier troops.

they're doing so much good work that they're running out of money. please donate if you can, and spread the word.

This is a good cause.

But there's something really, deeply fucked up that with the amount of money that goes into the military/industrial complex that this sort of thing needs volunteers and grass roots monetary support.

Hell, Haliburton could probably do it out of their coffee budget.
