West Medford is just south of Winchester, and Bistro 5 (http://bistro5.com/) lives there.

I'm kind of late, but for next time, Dandelion Green in Burlington is really nifty and pretty near Westchester.

Pho #1 Woburn is just a smidge up route 38. Tasty Vietnamese and Thai. Not upscale, but not a hole, either. Lanna Thai Diner across the street has more upscale but somewhat funky Thai. There's an Indian bakery down in Woburn Center that has lots of extremely yummy stuff but is, in fact, a hole.

Catch is in Winchester; it's a top-notch (and highly-rated) seafood place. Make a reservation, though, since it's popular.

China Sky, right in the center of town, is a good sit-down Chinese place.

Bistro 5 is right nearby in Medford. There is also a really good itialian restaraunt in Stoneham which is also very close.

China Sky has both excellent Chinese and some sushi. Alas it is the only restaurant I have tried since arriving. But I would totally go there again.
