10 years gone.
Oct. 21st, 2008 01:54 pmit's been 10 years since my hysterectomy. since i became a cancer survivor.
10 years ago today, i was laying in a hospital bed, looking at one of the ugliest floral arrangements i'd ever seen in person -- it was fabulous, arranged in a horseshoe, with clashing flower colors, and a ribbon reading "BEST WISHES ON YOUR NEUTERING".

Date: 2008-10-21 07:47 pm (UTC)and congrats -- i hope by now you've showed those internal organs who's boss, and the rest of them are properly cowed into submission :)

Date: 2008-10-21 07:57 pm (UTC)and so far, things have been mostly cowed into submission. i did have to kick things around and remove some more organs nearly 5 years ago, but hopefully that settled things.

Date: 2008-10-21 08:17 pm (UTC)Cue my brother and me snorting like two bad little kids in church. He looked at me and said, "We can bring her back from the dead. All we have to do is buy this and display it prominently at the funeral, and she'll come back from the dead and beat our butts with a hairbrush."
Me: "She can't do that, she's already been cremated. But nice try."
I think the flower guy wanted to laugh really hard.
Best wishes on your neutering and a stick in the eye to cancer,
