so, we're driving home tonight...

so, clauclauclaudia and i are driving home tonite. and we're in the mini. and we're on highland ave at the intersection of highland and central, stopped at the red light a couple of cars back, directly in front of the entrance to anthony's.

and the light turns green. we wait for the car in front of us to turn left, and they do, and as they do and i'm getting ready to shift into first gear, there's a THUMP noise.

my first thought was that a bicyclist somehow lost control and hit the car. i look around, i don't see anyone. at all. clauclauclaudia mentions that she saw some people duck into the entrance to anthony's.

the car seems intact. so we continue on our way. she points out that we could stop at the gas station around the corner from my house to get a well-lit look at the mini. i see the wisdom of her suggestion, and we pull into the gas station.

whereupon we discover that
... someone had thrown some kind of pastry at the car, and it's still stuck to it.





we wiped it off. but still. that's gone beyond annoying to just plain WEIRD.

That's just weird. The nearest thing I can come up with is kids horsing around, someone tosses it at someone else who ducks and the thing hits whatever happens to be behind him.
