i could tell you its icy
Jan. 30th, 2009 11:51 ambut pretty much everyone local on lj has mentioned the ice.
while the cold sucks a whole lot, as long as i don't need to do a lot of walking outside, i generally prefer it to the oppressive gray in seattle. this was the time of year that always got to me out there -- it was STILL DARK ALL THE TIME. whereas today it's bright and sunny with a cloudless sky, and the light is reflecting off of all the frozen snow.

Date: 2009-01-31 10:22 pm (UTC)I have a brother who lives in Colorado, north of Berthoud, and people from here are always surprised when I tell them how much warmer it is there on the average winter day. Yes, they're higher in altitude, but they're also a lot farther south and they get a lot more sun. Visiting him in March is always great -- we drive up into the mountains and ski in the morning, come back down in midafternoon and play tennis. Heh.
