I haven't thought about this for probably at least 10 years. Having the whole report at hand is awesome/creepy.

As I continue to think about this, about reading that stuff 10-15 years ago, and all the Geiger art that was perfect for the walls, I keep coming back to a simple truth:

The pyramids got ransacked. The valley of the kings endured. Burying something then totally forgetting about it seems to be the best move.

And if you're really tech literate enough to dig through 2,000 feet of granite and concrete and you're not aware of radiation then you are either really weird, or really gung-ho in just the wrong sort of way. Maybe some underground chambers that they can hit around it with explanations, and a sign on each canister that simply says:

"Good luck!"

Reading this, I kept thinking how it would feel to be a scientist in a future civilization investigating the site.

If we could put it on the moon, it would explode and rid us of that troublesome satellite. (and someone provide a never-ending supply of eagle shuttle parts)

Heh, yes. And they chose rightly (for Yucca Mountain, I think), a screaming face, a warning sign that is much older than humanity, and will probably be used a million years hence.
