I see comparison pictures like this, and it makes me realize how much I must totally stand out everywhere I go. Amy Acuff is like a towering monster, yet to me she'd be just "bit above short".

yeah - we usually feel perfectly normal to ourselves, even if we're at the outside edges of the bell curve in some way. i remember being shocked that i was in a group of three women and i was the tall one.

at my last job, i pointed out to several of the tall guys that they had a *very* different experience of the office space than i did -- they were all tall enough to see over all of the cube walls, while i was not. the space was more claustrophobic for me than for them.

Apparently no Olympic athletes have body hair. And they're all kinda ... oily.

heh. i think the oily is an artifact of shooting people against the dark background - they oil them up to show body contour better, i suspect.

i don't think it's all donald rumsfeld levels of ANOINTING FOR VICTORY.
