rmdI feel a little guilty for not making it out to the Dilboy VFW for the city's veteran's day thing, after the city seemed to be pushing it so hard. I'd been thinking of heading over for it - It's been a while since I've got to listen to various local pols expounding on things and being all politiciany. Instead, I'll probably go toss some more money at the USO.
Only in America: Every year, the WWE World Wrestling folks have a Tribute to the Troops wrestling show, where the wrestlers go do visits and then beat each other up for the amusement of the troops.
Also, I hadn't realized that the Navy has a ship named after Bob Hope, in honor of all his USO work. One of the few ships named after a person who was alive at the time, and one of the only named after a living person who was not in the military or government.
