Hmmmmmmmm. Really now. I can't agree with "so far no one has been able to present a good explanation to why the curling stones actually curl", as I've read any number of papers that have quite plausible explanations involving thin-film friction. The microscratch argument, however, is at least novel! More experimentation is clearly called for.
