the most remarkable of Arisias

There have been some notable Arisias. In retrospect, an important one was Arisia 2000, where
clauclauclaudia and I discovered a mutual interest in each other while hanging out at the dead dog party. But Arisia 2016 has surpassed all other Arisias by being the one where we got married.
Thursday: much shopping for Arisia stuff, followed by tiny wedding in a hotel function room followed by dinner in the McPub in the hotel.
Friday: a bit more Arisia shopping, and then the closed party for celebrating nuptials with Arisia folks.
Saturday: traditional open party.
I expected it to be draining but it was more draining than expected, so we bailed on some events we were going to go to (alas). Some of the live events we only managed to watch on Arisia TV, but the broadcast was working well. We did both manage to see parts of the con that we had wanted to see, though, and Claudia bought some art at the art show.
It was the first year we'd had a suite, and it was great. Spacious enough that I loaned out the non-bedroom room on Saturday afternoon so they could have a party there, too. I would definitely do that again. The only problem was that the Murphy bed was a bit awkward to wrangle - it had to be stripped before you could fold it up. But it does mean that you get a regular mattress, which is way better than a fold-out couch.
