every time i think about doing some sort of freelance tech-related writing, i decide that everything i could really be qualified to say has already been said better somewhere else.

i have no idea if this is accurate or not, but my brain seems to have taken it as proven by assertion.

muttergrumble.

on the other hand, i just went to look at a piece of cisco online documentation and i've found some really badly-on-the-verge-of-inaccurately phrased stuff.

I do this too...

I can't tell if it's the evil tape-recorder (YOU CAN'T DO ANYTHING RIGHT) or simple common sense, but I do this too... so what should we do about it?

i'm pretty sure this is the evil tape recorder at work. because certainly people keep finding new things to say about things i have knowledge of.

on the other hand, what can i say about tcp/ip that's not covered by stephens', or about high level security that's not covered by schneier, for example?

but truly, its not just content these days, but the whole cross-media marketing thing. your asking the wrong question of whether its been said yet. has it been said by anyone as fabulous as you? books, dvd's, tv sitcoms. and then we get to the action figurines, sheets, etc.
