rmdi love google. yes. yes i do.
today i love google because i had an answering machine message from some guy claiming to be from the "vmi awards verification center" at 888-699-4998 "gosh, i hope i have the right house" and sounding all earnest and stuff, concerning "a drawing you had entered for a new 2002 jeep liberty"
well, i didn't remember entering such a drawing, and he sounded just a bit too smooth and eager, so i put "vmi award verification center" into google and sure enough, a bunch of sites about scams these folks are trying to pull showed up. it's a standard timeshare sales scam where you sign up for a 90 minute presentation and get 5 hours of hard-pressure sales and nothing else to show for it.
i called the Mass AG's office and sure enough, they've heard of them.
