What really irks me is the fact that it's impossible to get reliable traffic reports after standard evening rush hour in this town. SmarTraveler shuts down at 9:30pm, and the information becomes extremely sketchy and unreliable after about 8:00pm or so.

If you're someone who works third shift, and prays like hell that the lower deck isn't backed up, like I do, you cannot get useful information regarding the best route to take to work. Suck.

WBZ gets their info from SmartTraveler. No reports after 9:30. Least, I haven't heard one yet.

Then there's putting up with the obnoxious talk-radio format after 7:00pm or whenever. I'd rather get stuck in traffic than listen to frothing right wing loons. If I want to listen to frothing loons, I'll read a certain mailing list.

i think you're thinking of some other AM talk radio station. like the one that annoying fuck howie carr works for. WBZ has pretty much non-frothing talk radio.

Maybe my perception is colored by (1) my perceptions of talk radio in general and (2) the specific individual they have on between 10 and 11 PM, when I'm typically driving to work. Paul Sullivan?
