liberty mutual just sent me a letter threatening to cancel my home insurance, except as far as i can tell, they never sent me a bill in the first place.

i've sent the payment in, but i want to know where the heck my bill was.

So, I'm guessing from everybody's experiences with various customer "service" entities that, uh, the large corporations have pretty much FIRED everybody with an IQ in the triple digits.

yeah, because those people cost money.

it seems that the prevailing school of management thought these days is to subdivide the tasks to be done into subtasks that can be performed by a trained chimp.

on the other hand, there are a helluva lot of chimps out there. i've actually read resumes and participated in hiring decisions, so I speak from experience.
