But tell me-- who is the beeeeyooootiful puffy-fluffy creature gracing the icon you used for posting?

that's bonaparte (named after a tank in a piece of anime i was watching while holding the cat who was purring, well, like a tank). someone tried to throw this cat away when she was a tiny tiny little kitten, but my friend kathrynt found her and i ended up adopting her. she's actually crawling on me right now.

you must be Morning People

hm. I always thought of 1pm as the ideal meeting time. Then again, I rarely got in before 11am.

Suffice it to say, I think my MSFT job spoiled me for any honest employment.
Admittedly, when our group underwent a demographic shift and I suddenly found myself surrounded by Morning People who liked coming in at 7am, I was well and truly fucked ...

Must... not... be... visibly... asleep!

I am so bad about this :)

Mid-afternoon, after I've eaten lunch, especially if the topic at hand is boring or even just
LONG it gets really hard.

What's worse is that lately I find caffeine doesn't really help, because then I get visibly jumpy / fidgety from being AWAKE and BORED.

The best case solution seems to be playing games on the palm pilot, listening enough to be aware of what's going on but not even trying to fool myself into thinking I can just sit and listen to the droning voices and not fade off into dreamland :)
