ahhh. productivity.
May. 31st, 2003 02:57 pmgot my eyes checked this morning -- i had thought i was about a quarter diopter off from my prescription but it turns out i've changed an entire half a diopter in the past year. but i don't need reading glasses yet (i've been noticing some problems focusing on a computer screen, but i think that's just the nearsightedness since i didn't have any problem reading close up -- it's just that my font size is small enough that a half diopter makes a difference at 18 - 24 inches away).
then i went home, rested my eyes a bit, then emptied out the back of the truck. i loaded some excess clothes and shoes that didn't fit or that didn't fit my current style (what there is of it) into the truck, and headed south to randolph via a charity donation box where i left the clothes and shoes. i hauled a bunch of stuff out of the basement in randolph including a beat-to-shit metal cabinet. managed to bring it up to the dumpster behind john's building where i dumped it off.
i went home, loaded the regular truck contents back in, and then took the loppers and cut the weeds in the front yard that want to be trees. i didn't feel up to putting my lavendar plants into the front (and giving them better soil and some drainage there) since the clouds were heavy and menacing, but i really wanted to get them out of their pots where they were becoming root-bound, so i put them in one of the planters in the back for now, just digging holes with my hand and spreading their clumped-up roots apart before planting them in. i figure i can always transplant them out in another month if i get around to putting them in front. (i want to put two on each side of the front walk against the street-side of the garden so that they'll give folks a whiff of lavender as they walk by.)
now, i think slack and reading or dvd's as a reward for a productive morning and early afternoon.
