my dvd burner is toast. i finally called the support line and chatted with them and they think it's a software problem, so they're sending me an upgrade. hopefully that will work.

my tivo is also toast. it wedges and the picture stutters until it wedges and at least one hard drive makes a sad noise that makes me think it's some kind of drive failure. i sent mail to the guy who sold me my tivo upgrade kit a while back and am pursuing that.

i'm worried about the rest of the gear in my tv rack.
