slept without my cpap last night (i stayed at claudia's and forgot to bring it with me because i was running late). i have a sore throat and my sinuses were bugging me all day. almost as if i had been making some atrocious noise with my nose and throat all night.

imgaine that.

i'm looking forward to curling up with my cpap for humidified forced air goodness tonight.

Another friend of mine also has a cpap, and because he has the flu he can't wear it and he misses it sorely.

No real point here, just commiseration by proxy. :)

ahhh. what i do in that circumstance is use dristan or some other up-the-nose 4 or 6 hour type decongestant. it usually works for about 4 hours of breathing with the cpap and then i wake up because i can't breathe and snort some more and i'm good for another few hours.

it's not great, but it does good enough.

I'm glad you figured out what was going on and found a solution that's so defintely better for you. I remember my couches that always seemed to suck you into sleep, zzzz...

oh, it's been a whole new world since i got my sleep apnea treated. i can stay awake thru an entire movie, and i don't fall asleep in meetings when i don't want to. it's just amazing. sleep is restful in a way i never imagined.
