so, my truck broke down. and i paid to have it fixed.

it cost me about $1100, including 4 tires, 4 ball joints, and a replacement wheel rim.

i picked the truck up yesterday. and then went home and went thru my mail and found a letter from my previous employer (where i worked for about 6 months) saying that they had miscalculated my vacation due when i left and that they owed me more vacation time. and they included a check. for about $1000.

i feel so ... surrounded by synchronicity.

one ball joint apparently exploded the other day, causing substantial damage to the wheel rim (i only drove about a couple of hundred feet or so after it started making the horrible grinding noise, but it was enough, and the wheel rim was kind of pricey). and it seemed silly - if one ball joint had had substantial failure - not to replace all four ball joints. and the front tires needed replacing, but the back ones were looking pretty rough too, so i got a full set.
