so, it's been about a month since i had my "let's remove a 20cm cyst, and the ovaries, and the appendix thru a foot-long (or larger) incision" surgery. so arisia was much more low key than i was used to, and certainly lower key than i wanted, but as low key as i needed it to be. i helped out in sales a bit, which was social but low-physical-effort. kelly and i threw our party, and while it was lower key than usual, too, it was fun. i didn't make it to any of the other parties besides the orange party (because i kept hearing i had to check it out -- it reminded me of the best room parties at orycon or norwescon, except without the booze, since no booze at open parties here).

in other stuff, this is a funny political cartoon, in honor of the state of the union address.

and this points out that conservative christians are all worried about defending marriage because it's a fragile institution for them -- they get divorced more than any other group.
