Feb. 26th, 2005 01:08 pmwhoah. this is quite something. i found it linked from kos. it's a write-up of a "men's night out" with enough melding of military worship and christianity to make the chrisitan who did the write-up uncomfortable.
the author sounds like some of the very religious christians i know -- particularly the level of discomfort with secular matters (no matter how patriotic) seemingly trumping the purpose of the church. (specifically, the flag covering up the cross)

And this fits right in. It has exactly the same undertones to it.

Date: 2005-02-26 06:40 pm (UTC)That said, people have been recruiting for over a thousand years to combat the evil heathen. I don't see any sign of this stopping anytime soon. Also there are a lot of whack jobs in this country who had no problem doing all sorts of things (Abe Lincoln brigade for example) so we don't have a monopoly on this.
MTD was doing a big reporting job for barf.org awhile back. Good use of his Digex money. Check it out.
