i cashed in the $1000 ladies' no limit hold'em tournament of the world series of poker! (event 26, the one jennifer tilly won. she was at my table for a while, but i neither conversed with her nor played a pot with her, so there's not much exciting there).

there were 601 entrants, and the top 54 finishers got paid. i finished 49th at the end of round 8, ahead of kathy liebert, who was to my right for much of my time on my last table.

there were only one or two things i did during the whole tournament that felt like mistakes, and in general, i felt like i had my "a" game for the whole tournament.

apparently, i used up all my "a" game on sunday during the tournament because i played like a donkey (or at least an unlucky player -- probably a combination of both) for much of the rest of my trip. but still. I CASHED AT A WORLD SERIES OF POKER EVENT! (the buy-in was $1000, and i won $1360, so ... not a huge profit, but still, i made the money and outlasted something like 550 other women, some of them very good players).

jennifer tilly totally doesn't look 46. and i cannot believe she's dating phil "unabomber" laak
