lagaan

lagaan has been sitting on my tivo for about 5 months, since i kept being daunted by its 3 hour and 45 minute run-time. i finally watched it last night -- was a fun movie. the heroines were beautiful, the hero was noble, the villains were ... well... british, and the musical numbers were enormous. (the music was written by the same person who wrote the music for "bombay dreams".)

that followed by a long night's sleep seems to have done a good job of taking the edge of my grumpiness about travel issues.

well, that's neighborly and convenient.

if you have enough nice neighbors with snow blowers, you don't actually need to own a snowblower yourself.

there was still plenty of shovelling for me to do, but it was a whole lot less than it otherwise would've been.
